Wind Advisory, Rain & Thunderstorms

Update 8:30 pm est. Here is a picture that I took of the line of thunderstorms as they approached Central Kentucky this evening.

From the NWS Louisville:
...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EST /6 AM CST/ THIS MORNING TO 7 AM EST /6 AM CST/ FRIDAY...
* TIMING...Today and tonight.
* WINDS...Expect sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts of 35 to 45 MPH. Localized gusts of 50 mph are possible.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds can cause tree and branch damage. Loose outdoor object may be blown around. Difficult travel for high profile vehicles on east-west roadways.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts of over 40 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. (Color Tan).

Cloudy skies with rain chances for most of the day, then heavier showers and thunderstorms chances ramp up again tonight-90%. Numerous models are showing a line of showers and thunderstorms racing across the region late this evening/night. Most of the strong to severe storms will be in the south in LA, MS, and AL where the National Weather Service has a slight risk. We are still not ruling out the chance for a few isolated strong storms in portions of KY, and TN. The best timing will be from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm est for Central Kentucky. Christmas Eve Weather & Photography

Freezing Fog Sunrise
Good Christmas Eve Morning, we're currently waking up to freezing fog and temperatures in the mid 20's, and will warm up to the mid 40's today. Tonight the low will be near 31 degrees, and some of you may see a few flurries move in after midnight through Christmas morning, not expecting much accumulation with this at this time. Highs on Christmas Day will remain in the mid 40's as well.
Freezing Fog
Here are pictures of the freezing fog on contact with the grass this morning.
While it's certainly not snow, it is enough to finish putting me in the Holiday spirit & hopefully you too!

Radarscope pro

*The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a special weather statement for light snow this afternoon and early evening.

"Cold Rain Will Likely Change To A Period Of Light Snow This Afternoon Into The Early Evening. A Light Dusting Up To A Half An Inch Of Snow Could Accumulate As Snow Is Falling, But Will Likely Melt Once Precipitation Ends Late This Afternoon Into The Evening. Several Reports Of Light Accumulations Have Already Occurred Across Western Kentucky, And Could Cause A Few Slick Spots In Our Region As Well. Use Caution If Traveling Today.

*Light snow has already been reported on MPing as you can see in Western Kentucky where a Winter Weather Advisory in purple has been issued until 4/5 pm cst/est this afternoon for up to one inch of snow. Welcome

Welcome to WeatherGraphy Weather & Photography Blogs.

A little background about myself is that I became extremely interested in severe weather at the age of ten years old, and I have been in love with it ever sense. As time went on I became a Skywarn Storm Spotter, Storm Chaser Photographer, and I am currently pursuing a Meteorology Degree.

I am creating weather blogs for extreme weather events for the past, present, and future. My goal for these blogs are to help me grow as a broadcaster so I can get important weather information out to the public in a timely, professional manner.

Facts and important information like watches and warnings for example, will come directly from professional Meteorologists or Scientists from the NWSNOAANASA, and the NHC.
Other models used on this site will always be provided a link directly to their site.  The most common are courtesy of Pivotal Weather, or Tropical Tidbits(Levi).

When severe weather is not imminent, I will feature weekly or monthly weather blogs that may include pictures.

I hope that you all will enjoy my future blogs, have a great day/night. 😊
