Easter Sunday Severe Weather Threat

Moderate risk for portions of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

Enhanced risk for locations in orange which includes portions of Western/Southern KY.


Here is the Tornado Threat
Hatched Significant in the red 15% and yellow 10% outlined areas.



Here is the Damaging Wind Threat
High damaging Wind Threat for portions of TN, AR, MS, AL in pink, 45%.


Here is the Hail Threat
Hatched Significant in red 30%.

Wind Advisory in Tan.

The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 2 AM EDT /1 AM CDT/ to 2 PM EDT /1 PM CDT/ Monday.

* TIMING...Peak wind gusts likely will occur anywhere between 7 AM and 11 AM EDT.

* WINDS...Some wind gusts around 50 mph are likely.

* IMPACTS...Expect scattered power outages across the region. Driving may be difficult on north to south oriented roads.

A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts of over 40 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Freeze Warning, Severe Weather Outbreak Sunday



Freeze Warning


The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 3 AM EDT /2 AM CDT/ to 9 AM EDT /8 AM CDT/ Saturday. The Freeze Watch is no longer in effect.

* TEMPERATURE...Lows in the lower 30s, with upper 20s possible in sheltered valley locations.

* IMPACTS...Widespread frost is possible. Crops and other sensitive vegetation could be damaged.

A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

Severe Weather Threat Today

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Tornado Watch for portions of 
     Central and Southern Indiana
     Central Kentucky
     Southwest Ohio

   * Effective this Wednesday night and Thursday morning from 725 PM
     until 200 AM EDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     A few tornadoes possible
     Widespread damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
       mph likely
     Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3
       inches in diameter likely






The Storm Prediction Center has placed majority of Kentucky in an Enhanced Risk for severe weather today
