Freeeze Warning Tonight

Freeze watch no longer in effect. 

Freeze Warning

* WHAT...Temperatures tomorrow morning around 28-32 degrees.

* WHERE...Southern Indiana and most of central Kentucky.

* WHEN...Until 10 AM EDT /9 AM CDT/ This morning. Then from midnight EDT /11 PM CDT tonight to 10 AM EDT /9 AM CDT/ Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind chills this morning will be in the lower and middle 20s Thursday morning.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

Frost Advisory

 A Frost Advisory has been issued for portions of Central and Eastern Kentucky. Please refrain from planting or cover plants if you have already planted.


The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Frost Advisory, which is in effect from 4 AM EDT /3 AM CDT/ to 9 AM EDT /8 AM CDT/ Friday.

* TEMPERATURE...Lows Friday morning will be in the mid 30s, with coolest temperatures occurring in sheltered rural locations.

* IMPACTS...Frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.

A Frost Advisory means that widespread frost is expected. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.
