Moderate Risk for Severe Weather Today

A Moderate Risk has been issues for portions of Kansas and Nebraska where all modes of severe weather is possible later Today. 


A 15% hatched significant threat for tornadoes over NE and KS. 10% hatched significant in yellow. 5% brown, and 2% green.

Here is the damaging wind threat. 45% hatched significant in pink for portions of Nebraska and Kansas. 30% hatched significant in red. 15% in yellow and 5% in brown. 

There is the potential for large hail with a 45% hatched significant threat in pink for portions of Nebraska and Kansas. 30% hatched significant in red, hatched significant in yellow and 5% in brown.

Invest 90L

 Invest 90L may become the first tropical depression of the season with a 70 percent chance of development in 48 hours and 90 percent by day 5. 

This disturbance will likely become a subtropical cyclone near and to the NE of Bermuda on Friday. The system is expected to move toward the north and northeast into a more hostile environment by late Sunday into Monday.

Severe Weather Threat This Afternoon & Evening

 A Moderate Risk has been issued for portions of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. A Slight Risk has been reintroduced into portions of Western/Central Kentucky. 

All modes of severe weather can be expected in the red outlined area.


Here is the tornado threat which is low, but non zero nonetheless. 2 percent in green and 5 percent in brown to the south. 


Damaging winds a concern over Louisana, Mississippi, and Alabama with a hatched significant threat in pink (45 percent).


And here is the hail threat with 5 percent brown and 15 percent yellow.

Severe Weather Threat Today & Tonight

 Severe weather threat today through Tuesday. An Enhanced risk has been issued by the Storm Prediction Center for areas located in orange. This incudes Arkansas, Southern Illinois, Southern Indiana, Southeastern Missouri, and West Central Kentucky. The biggest threat will be damaging winds and large hail (some significant in size), isolated brief tornadoes are also possible.


Here is the tornado threat with 5 percent in brown and 2 percent in green.


Hatched significant damaging wind threat in the red hatched significant areas which includes Oklahoma, Southeastern Missouri, Southeast Illinois, and Western Kentucky. 

Hatched significant hail threat there in Texas and Oklahoma.

Tuesday; Severe weather is expected to be ongoing overnight tonight continuing into Tuesday. Damaging winds and hail are the biggest threats with the chance for brief tornadoes possible in the enhanced risk area.


2 percent tornado threat and 5 percent in brown.

Here is the damaging wind threat with the higher probabilities in red at 30 percent to our south.

Hatched significant hail threat to the south including Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
