Strong Storms Possible Today, Watching the Gulf

Good Sunday afternoon everybody it's a hot and muggy day once again. Currently sitting at 84 degrees at 12:00 pm est and the highs 89. There is a 60% change for scatter thunderstorms some of which could be strong to severe this afternoon and evening. Storms will be sporadic in nature so not everyone will see a storm today.

The SPC has placed portions of Central and Eastern Kentucky in a Marginal Risk for strong to severe storms today in dark green.


There is a low 5 percent damaging wind and hail threat. 



Tropics

There is a trough of low pressure that has a 50 percent chance of developing over the next 5 days. In the meantime it is at 10 percent for the next few days. We'll keep watching to see what happens over the coming days.
