Special Weather Statement for light snow potential Tuesday Night

Linktr.ee/WeatherGraphy

Special Weather Statement from the National Weather Service in Louisville, Kentucky.

An upper level disturbance is forecast to track across the region Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. This feature will bring a period of light snowfall to southern Indiana and portions of northern Kentucky. The area at most risk for snowfall accumulations will be in areas along and north of the Ohio River where a half to as much as an inch of snow may fall. In areas south of the Ohio River and down toward the Western Kentucky and Bluegrass Parkways, a coating or dusting of accumulation will be possible.

As with all winter systems passing through the Ohio Valley, there remains a bit of uncertainty with respect to how much snow will fall and the southward extent. However, the timing of this snow for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning and it being the first of the season will likely result in some negative travel impacts for the Wednesday morning commute.

Motorists should be prepared for icy spots on roads, bridges, overpasses, and untreated roads. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio and your local media for the latest updates on this winter weather situation.
