Heat and severe weather threat.

Happy Birthday America! Wishing every American a very happy Independence Day & 4th of July. Most of you who know me closely knows just how much I adore this day. I hope everyone has had a great holiday weekend. 

A heat advisory is in effect for heat index values up to 107 degrees Today through Wednesday.  Tuesday and Wednesday we will be watching the threat for severe thunderstorms.



HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON EDT /11 AM CDT/ TUESDAY
TO 9 PM EDT /8 PM CDT/ WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 109 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of and south central Indiana and north
  central, northwest and south central Kentucky.

* WHEN...From noon EDT /11 AM CDT/ to 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/
  Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses to occur.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Here is the outlook for Tuesday, the main threats will be damaging winds and hail.

Wednesday's severe weather outlook and again damaging winds and hail are the primary hazards.
