Moderate Risk for severe weather Tuesday

 A Moderate Risk for all modes of severe weather has been issued for portions of Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana. A tornado outbreaks is possible in the Lower Mississippi Valley Tomorrow afternoon and evening.



15% threat for tornadoes in red, 10% in yellow, 5% in brown, and 2% in green. Significant tornadoes, long lived and long tracked tornadoes will be possible especially within the 10-15% tornado risk area.


Damaging wind threat. 30% Hatched Significant in Mississippi.

Minor Snow Accumulation Saturday Morning

 Minor snow accumulations are expected Saturday morning in portions of the Ohio Valley


Special Weather Statement

Minor snow accumulations are expected across portions of southern Indiana and central Kentucky Saturday morning. Snow amounts of a dusting to one inch will be possible, mainly on elevated and grassy surfaces. Within any heavier snow bands, brief covering of roadways will be possible. Slick spots may develop, especially on bridges and overpasses.

11/04/22 Outbreak Aftermath

 


At least 19 tornadoes touched down yesterday and last night across three states. Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Tornado Emergencies and Particularly Dangerous Situation tornado warnings were issued. These tornadoes were very large and destructive taking on wedge shaped appearances. The images coming out of some of the hardest hit areas appear to show at least EF3+ damage. Homes were completed destroy and some trees took on a sawed off appearance. This blog will be updated as more information comes out, my thoughts, and prayers go out to everyone who lost their lives and their homes.

* WHAT...South winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected. A few isolated gusts of 50 mph are possible.

* WHERE...All of southern Indiana and Central Kentucky.

* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

Special Weather Statement

Windy Saturday

A strong low pressure system  over the Missouri Valley will deepen

and cause quite a pressure gradient during portions of Saturday.
expect southerly winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 to 40
mph. The strong winds will start at daybreak and last into the mid
afternoon.

Winds across Southern Indiana could gust above 40 mph during the
late morning into very early afternoon.
Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Winds this strong
can make driving challenging, especially for high profile
vehicles.
