Severe Weather Threat Continues

Severe weather with flash flooding moved through the area overnight in Central Kentucky. Multiple Flash Flood Warnings, Severe Thunderstorm, and Tornado Warnings were issued. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 11:00 am cst / 12:00 am est.

The Storm Prediction Center has an Enhanced Risk to our South in portions of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama along with a 10% hatched significant tornado threat. There is a 5% tornado threat in the Slight Risk Area that includes Central Kentucky.

There is a threat for additional showers and thunderstorms later today with highs near 70°. I will be watching to see how the atmosphere recovers from overnight rain/storms. That will be a factor in how strong any additional storms will be across Kentucky later today.
