Strong gusty winds over night (C-KY)

Strong gusty winds are expected after midnight. Winds gusts in excess of 40 miles per hour is possible with sustained winds 11 to 23 miles per hour is expected. Up to one inch of rainfall is expected overnight. A Wind Advisory and a Special Weather Statement has been issued for Central Kentucky.

Gusty winds and widespread rain will develop after midnight tonight ahead of a strong low pressure system. Gusts near or above 30 mph from the southeast are likely, especially Tuesday morning. A Wind Advisory has been issued for south central and east central Kentucky, where 40 mph gusts are possible.

Another period of gusty winds is expected Tuesday night, and could be accompanied by a wintry mix. Wind gusts could exceed 40 mph from the southwest, with minor snow accumulations also possible.

* WHAT...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 to 45 mph expected.

* WHERE...Portions of and south central Indiana and north central, northwest and south central Kentucky.

* WHEN...From 2 PM EST /1 PM CST/ Tuesday to 7 AM EST /6 AM CST/ Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Later Tuesday night, gusty rain and snow showers are expected with reduced visibilities and briefly hazardous driving conditions possible.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
